2021 Trans Am Bike Race Day 6 Report

Posted November 7, 2021 in 2021 Trans Am by Mark Croker 2 Comments

Friday June 11, 2021: Alarm at 5:15am, out the door by 6:12am. A standard 1 hour transition from bed to bike that I would like to reduce by half at some point in my self supported ultra distance cycling "career". This morning it was acceptance...

Wednesday June 9, 2021: An early finish means an extra early start the following day. Or does it? Not on this occasion it doesn't, although my alarm did play its part. It dutifully jolted me from a fitful slumber somewhere in the 4 bracket...

2021 Trans Am Bike Race Day 3 Report

Posted October 10, 2021 in 2021 Trans Am by Mark Croker 2 Comments

Tuesday June 8, 2021: Day 1 sucked. Day 2 was better. What would Day 3 bring I pondered to myself as I faffed around my hotel room. Ablutions, leftover gas station vittles, packing up and getting dressed. All conducted at a snails pace with ample interruptions...

Trans Atlantic Way Day 9 and 10 Report

Friday June 14, 2019: Given the late finish the previous night I'd given myself permission to "sleep in" to 6:30 am, which still only gave me around 4 and a half hours sleep. Quite obviously not enough but I'd be barking up the wrong tree if...

I AM WRITING A BOOK

Yes I blogged about my 2017 Trans Am experience but there is so much more to be said. It is taking a while but it is absolutely going to get done. Should you want to receive updates on how the book writing is going please sign up below.

About Me

Hi, my name is Mark and I am a cyclist, a MAMIL Cyclist. I ride my bike whenever and wherever I get the chance. It is the means by which I keep my recalcitrant waistline under relative control. It is my hobby. It is my passion. It is my therapy. It now feeds my creative outlet in the form of this blog.

That is the short story, the longer (much longer) story is here.
